Pups for Peace launches anti-terrorist Canadian fundraising campaign

By MIKE FREEDLAND, Canadian Campaign Chair

Pups for Peace is pleased to announce the Canadian launch of its fundraising campaign to prevent terrorist activities in Israel. Formed in April 2002, US based Pups for Peace is a non-partisan, non-profit organization whose mandate is to prevent death, injury, and terrorist attacks, using explosive detecting dogs.

Pups for Peace purchases appropriate dogs and then provides extensive explosive detection training with handlers, at its facilities in the US and Israel in cooperation with Israeli security services.

The Canadian launch begins with the Pups For Peace Challenge.  The program challenges any company, organization, or individual to register and raise $15,000 CDN in donations to purchase and train each explosives detecting dog.  Any group that registers and raises this amount will be able to name a dog, receive a certificate and regular updates.

Canadian Campaign Chair, Mike Freedland said, “Rather than just watch terrorist horrors on television, we now have a practical and easy way to help, right here in Canada.”  Volunteers are also needed to assist in all aspects of the Canadian fundraising initiative.

Direct donations, program registration, and other information is available online at www.pupsforpeace.org, pupscan@yahoo.com,  or by calling 1.800.669.8930.  As charitable status is not yet established in Canada, tax receipts can only be provided in the US or Israel at this time.
