Brig. Gen. Ze’ev Tsuk- Ram (ret.) Takes Leadership of Pups for Peace
Los Angeles, California (July 21, 2003)—Pups for Peace, a non-profit organization committed to deployment of explosive detection dogs to help fight terrorism, announced the hiring of Brig. Gen. Ze’ev (Vova) Tsuk-Ram as its President. He will be responsible for all planning, development, and management of Pups for Peace operations, in Israel and the U.S.
We are lucky to have someone of General Tsuk-Ram’s background in security, defense and non-conventional terrorism lead our dedicated team of volunteers and professionals in deploying detection dogs for civilian defense," said Glenn Yago, co-founder and director of Pups for Peace. "Having proven the concept of explosive detection dogs in aiding Israel’s defense for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), public transportation, and now the Israel Police, further civilian deployment to meet our goal of helping to detect and deter terrorist attacks will be swiftly advanced by Vova’s profound expertise in security and defense."
General Tsuk-Ram completed 30 years of varied command, staff and training positions in the Israel Defense Forces before retiring in 1999 as the Chief Operations Officer for the Homefront Command. In that mission critical capacity, he initiated and led joint projects for Israel’s defense with various government offices, local authorities and municipalities. During his military career, he also served as Air-Defense Brigade Commander and chief of security and safety for the Israeli Air Force, and head of the Air Defense Officer’s School.
"The experience Zeev Tsuk-Ram brings to Pups for Peace will be a big help in placing the operation in the context in which it belongs in Israel and in the realm of security and counter-terrorism, globally," asserted Ronnie Lotan, Pups for Peace director and co-founder.
Since his retirement, General Tsuk-Ram served on special assignment on counter-terrorism matters for the Prime Minister’s Office and with IsraTeam—a terrorism risk management firm as a consultant serving the international security market. "Pups for Peace can play an important role in civil defense in Israel and I am excited to have the opportunity to work toward the fulfillment of this challenge," said General Tsuk-Ram about his new position.
